Living a Life of Grace

I heard Chuck Swindoll preach this week on living a life of grace.  We need to do 3 things.  First, we need to have mutual acceptance. We need to lighten up on our severity of those around us.  There are 2 killers - controlling and comparing.  Second, we need to release others to who they are.  Let the Lord lead their lives.  We all stand before the judgment seat.  Some people can't keep up so let it be; we are not the standard.  Lastly, we should never assume a role we're not qualified to fill, being anyone else's judge.  I cannot know all the facts; I cannot be totally objective; I can't read their motive; I have my own blind spots.  But Christ has none of those restrictions.  Therefore, only He can righteously judge.  Sometimes I know I can be quick to judge someone and this reminded me that I need to show grace to others, as He does so faithfully to us.

T-shirt scarves!

I love making t-shirt scarves!  There are so many variations.  The first t-shirt scarf I made was through a tutorial I found.  http://homemade.tipjunkie.com/infinity-t-shirt-scarf/  I made several of these and received lots of compliments from friends.

Here's another one I made.  A fringe scarf!  My friend gave me the link for this video tutorial.  Just love it!  One key is to buy a 2X or larger t-shirt so when you double it, it will lay nicer and lower on your neck.

Here's the simplest infinity t-shirt scarf tutorial ever.  It only involves cutting and no sewing.  And the choice of color is all yours!  http://organizeyourstuffnow.com/wordpress/?p=18948

Have fun making scarves!

Pottery Barn Poinsettia Pillow!

I love this Pottery Barn pillow.  While reading through blogs, I found a tutorial.  I was very excited to try it out.  I already had a plain brown pillow so that part was easy.  Then I purchased wool felt in the creamy white color and began making my pillow.  I wanted the leaves to have some interest so I did not make them straight.  I drew a mock-up leaf on a piece of paper to make sure the sizing was correct, then started cutting out my leaves.  http://twogirlsbeingcrafty.blogspot.com/2010/12/poinsettia-pillow-tutorial.html  Here's my version.

I absolutely love how it turned out!  I've showed it to friends and they all love it.  It was very time consuming but beats the $29.00 price tag.

Sweeter than Honey

Psalm 119:97-103
Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me ... I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I hope you find encouragement, inspiration, and ideas through this blog and experience the sweetness of our Lord through it all.
