I love the Fall! What I love most is the Thanksgiving holiday where you gather with family for a wonderful home-cooked meal with no hassle of gift giving. I saw these pumpkins a while ago and have been wanting to make my own. You can find the tutorial here. Aren't they gorgeous? I saw them at Michael's but they're $15 for one. Way too much. Find a couple of crafty girlfriends and go make your pumpkins! I know I will.

Faux Coral
Check out this tutorial here. I haven't really paid much attention to the pet section at Walmart but now I have a reason to visit that aisle. If you've read my earlier posts, I love beachy stuff. I have a small guest bathroom with a beachy theme and thought this coral might add very nicely to my theme. I already have several beachy stuff there.
This was a very simple project. Grab a candlestick from the dollar store. Glue it onto a vase. I had this vase laying around in my closet. (I actually collect any and all kinds of vases from whatever flower arrangements I receive.) You then fill it with whatever you'd like. I filled it with sea shells collected from our beach trips.
These are clam shells that a friend collected up north. These gorgeous shells were sitting in their garage and they were trying to get rid of it! I grabbed a few and it now hangs pretty in my bathroom.
And now I will have to visit Walmart to make these coral beauties. And maybe even the starfish. Those are also quite gorgeous. I will update with photos soon!

Faux Silver Bird Pedestal Bowl
Here is another beautiful dollar store craft that I'm dying to try. Here's is where I found the tutorial. http://www.morenascorner.com/2012/05/faux-silver-birds-and-flowers-pedestal.html. It is a simple project with a few pieces and glue and spray paint.
It is absolutely gorgeous! I have a very small collection of birds and this could be a great addition to that or even to give as a gift.
Owl Bookends
While browsing through some of my favorite blogs (which I haven't done in ages), I came across this cute tutorial on making your own owl bookeneds. It is found here.
Just last week I saw the ceramic owls from the dollar store and did not grab them (although I'm a big owl fan) because they were kinda cute, not cute cute. But now that I see what this can be transformed into, I'm willing to give it a shot. Stay tuned!

Sunburst Mirror REDO!
A while ago I made a couple of sunburst mirrors. The first one sits by my computer desk. The second hangs in my foyer. After months of hanging in my foyer though, it looked to be lacking a little something. I saw a sunburst mirror at Kohl's that I liked and wanted to create something like it.
So I decided to add some mirrored embellishments. I purchased small square mirror tiles (Michael's) and glue them on with my trusty glue gun. And here's the result. I think it looks much more polished and has a little more bling. Love it!

Here's the old one....pretty plain. Love the newly embellished mirror!

May 9!
I know I've been off blogland for a while but didn't realize how long it's been! Wow! My last post was on May 9th! Well, I'm back, I'm happy to say. It's been a great summer with my boy with lots of new adventures and lots of fun new things that we hadn't done before. And now we've started school and it's back to work, so to speak.
In previous posts, I've mentioned the loss of my baby in March. It's still a long, healing process. Unless I'm focused on something and distracted from thinking about my baby, the tears still come easily. September would have been his birthday. Yet, I know that he is the loving arms of my beautiful Savior. And I can't wait to meet him and see his face. In the meantime, I have a beautiful son and my loving husband who is always encouraging me and so patient with me.
So.........I am very much looking forward to Fall!
Stay tuned for some fun fall crafts that I can't wait to try!

I Will Carry You
I will carry you (Selah)
There were photographs I wanted to take
Things I wanted to show you
Sing sweet lullabies, wipe your teary eyes
Who could love you like this?
People say that I am brave but I’m not
Truth is I’m barely hanging on
But there’s a greater story
Written long before me
Because He loves you like this
So I will carry you
While your heart beats here
Long beyond the empty cradle
Through the coming years
I will carry you
All my life
And I will praise the One Who’s chosen me
To carry you
Such a short time
Such a long road
All this madness
But I know
That the silence
Has brought me to His voice
And He says…
I’ve shown her photographs of time beginning
I’ve shown her photographs of time beginning
Walked her through the parted seas
Angel lullabies, no more teary eyes
Who could love her like this?
I will carry you
I will carry you
While your heart beats here
Long beyond the empty cradle
Through the coming years
I will carry you
All your life
And I will praise the One Who’s chosen Me
To carry you
